Asheville Holistic Acupuncture
authentic healthcare
In an age of fast-paced and profit-driven medicine,
Where the healthcare system has been reduced to symptom management,
I’ve created a clinic that preserves the integrity of medical tradition by prioritizing a truly holistic evaluation and diagnosis and a truly curative course of treatment.
Through a rigorous and comprehensive diagnostic intake the health and functional state of each organ system is evaluated and considered together. The body must be evaluated in this way in order to develop a genuine diagnosis. A personalized treatment plan is then developed, beginning with intervention at the most fundamental level of diet and lifestyle, augmented by nutritional supplements in the form of vitamins and minerals, extracts and concentrates, which support treatment principles through natural substances native to foods. Many diseases can be cured completely only by intervention at this level; for those which require deeper treatment herbal medicines are utilized alongside acupuncture as a means to rectify imbalances leading to disease states.
I’m honored to help you on your health journey. Together we can develop a game plan that will fulfill your health goals.

“If your question is “Does Chinese medicine treat this?””
Diseases and their cures
All disorders and diseases are treatable and curable; given correct diagnosis, the only limiting factor to overcoming any disease is a lack of devotion to the course of treatment. If you are considering a course of treatment outside the allopathic system, come in; get a second opinion, and take advantage of the unique perspective the holistic diagnostic model provides.
The following disorders are commonly and effectively cured with my approach:
Pain - Back pain, menstrual pain, peripheral neuropathy, fibromyalgia, plantar fasciitis, arthritis, cancer pain, TMJ.
Neurological - Headache, migraines, insomnia, stress, anxiety, depression, parkinson’s disease, multiple sclerosis, post-stroke sensory/motor dysfunction, memory loss, bell’s palsy. These disorders are what I take the most personal interest in treating.
Orthopedic - Bursitis, inflamed tendons as in tennis elbow, golfer’s elbow and others, radiculopathy, frozen shoulder, strains and sprains (as long as it isn’t a full tear), bone fractures (only sub-acute cases which do not involve full breaks or which have already been set and dressed at a hospital). After any injury, from a minor bruise to a strain, sprain, or broken bone, it is very helpful to take herbal medicine to move the blood and to increase metabolic activity in the tissues. This will ensure that the injury heals completely and quickly.
Mental Health - Major depressive disorder, generalized anxiety disorder, panic disorder, OCD, PTSD, bipolar, schizophrenia, schizoaffective disorder, ADHD, addiction and substance abuse disorders. Many mental health disorders will involve more counseling and discussion; in addition to Chinese medicine I favor the Internal Family Systems approach to psychological evaluation and growth.
Cardiovascular - Hypertension, coronary artery disease, heart failure, arrhythmias, stroke.
Respiratory - Asthma, COPD, bronchitis, pneumonia, sinusitis, allergic rhinitis, cough, seasonal allergies.
Gastro-intestinal - Irritable bowel syndrome, inflammatory bowel disease (Crohn’s, ulcerative colitis), gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), hypoacidosis, persistent nausea or vomiting, constipation, diarrhea, SIBO.
Auto-immune - Rheumatoid arthritis, Hashimoto’s thyroiditis, Graves’ disease, psoriasis, lupus, celiac disease, multiple sclerosis, Sjögren’s syndrome, alopecia areata, vitiligo, autoimmune hepatitis, myasthenia gravis.
Needle free treatment options
Acupuncture generally involves the insertion of needles to elicit therapeutic effect but this is not strictly necessary and for those who wish to pursue a course of treatment without needles there are options to do so. Generally needle insertion may be replaced with manual point stimulation with finger pressure or tools like probes, gua sha paddles, or glass cups. Look for this option when scheduling.
