Gua Sha Rod
Gua Sha Rod
Here's the product description:
Gua Sha Rod — Bull's Horn, 6"
The gua sha rod is the most clinically precise tool in the traditional toolkit — designed not for broad sweeping strokes across large muscle groups, but for targeted, penetrating work at specific points, along narrow channel pathways, and into the deep tissue layers that flat-edged tools cannot effectively reach.
At 6" long, the rod fits comfortably in the hand with the rounded tip extending beyond the fingers, allowing the practitioner or patient to apply concentrated, directional pressure along tendons, between vertebrae, down the length of the IT band, through the plantar fascia, and along the smaller channels of the forearms and lower legs. The tapered tip functions as a hybrid tool — simultaneously a gua sha instrument and an acupressure probe — making it one of the most versatile items in the clinical setting.
Made from bull's horn, a dense natural material with deep roots in classical Chinese medicine. Horn is considered cooling and blood-moving in Chinese medicine, with a firm surface that provides excellent feedback under pressure without being harsh on tissue. The natural composition means it retains warmth from the hand during treatment, giving the rod a pleasant quality that cold metal instruments do not replicate.
This tool is particularly well suited for:
Deep fascial work along the erector spinae and paraspinal musculature
Tendon and IT band release
Plantar fascia and foot reflexology
Forearm and wrist channel work — especially relevant for repetitive strain injuries and carpal tunnel presentations
Acupressure point stimulation at specific locations requiring focused pressure
Scar tissue mobilization where broad tools cannot access the affected area
For patients practicing home gua sha, the rod extends the range of self-treatment significantly — reaching areas of the back, glutes, and lower legs that are difficult to address with flat tools when working on oneself.
Length: 6" Material: Bull's horn, smooth polished finish Best for: Deep tissue work, point stimulation, tendons, plantar fascia, IT band, scar tissue, forearm and wrist channel work
Apply oil to skin or use dry depending on the application. Avoid sustained pressure on bony prominences or areas of acute inflammation. Consult your practitioner before beginning home treatment.
