Gua Sha Smooth Rect. 2.25 x 4
Gua Sha Smooth Rect. 2.25 x 4
Gua Sha Tool — Smooth Rectangle, 4" x 2.25"
The rectangular gua sha board is the most versatile and clinically useful shape in the traditional gua sha toolkit. At 4" x 2.25", this tool is large enough to cover broad surface areas efficiently — the upper back, lower back, thighs, and calves — while the straight edges and gently rounded corners allow for precise work along the Bladder channel, the paraspinal muscles, and the iliotibial band. One of the few gua sha shapes that works equally well for both sweeping strokes across large muscle groups and detailed work along specific channel pathways.
Made from natural material with a smooth, firm surface that glides cleanly across oiled skin without snagging or dragging. The flat profile gives the practitioner or patient full control over angle and pressure — the two variables that matter most in gua sha technique. A steeper angle produces more surface stimulation and stronger sha; a shallower angle produces a gentler, more dispersing effect appropriate for sensitive areas or patients new to the therapy.
In Classical Chinese Medicine, gua sha disperses stagnation, moves blood, releases the exterior, and addresses cold and damp that has accumulated in the muscle and channel layers. It is one of the most immediately effective tools in the clinical setting for acute pain, tight muscles, early-stage respiratory illness, and stubborn myofascial restriction that needles alone don't fully resolve.
Suitable for clinical use and for home self-treatment once basic technique has been learned. A small amount of oil — coconut, sesame, or a medicated liniment — applied to the skin before use will protect the surface and allow smooth, effective strokes.
Dimensions: 4" x 2.25" Material: Natural material, smooth finish Best for: Back, thighs, calves, channel work, general body gua sha
Apply oil to skin before use. Avoid broken skin, areas of active inflammation, or sunburned tissue. Some redness or petechiae (sha) is normal and expected — this is not bruising and typically resolves within 24–48 hours. Consult your practitioner before beginning home gua sha treatment.
